i have never drifted before and it still is fun for me just to watch. I plan on starting to drift. looks thrilling. Drag racing is still fun to me too. I guess i just love cars. it kinda runs in the family. my dad my brother and my uncle all like drag but i am the first to be interested in drifting. my brother is getting into it too and my dad likes to watch it. my brother used to street race and hes gotten in trouble a few times so i guess he is sick of it. Drifting is the New Street Racing! also in drifting heavy mods dont have to be done, and it requires more skill.

It's just fun. You can do it really cheap, it teaches you more about driving than just hitting the "go" pedal.

i love drag racing. but its realy about how much monye u have and how u setyour car up. drifting u can have a allstock car and still compet if u r a good driver.

[QUOTE]Can I ask you this question? Why do you like to drive in a straight line for 1320 feet? to see how fast you are?

Drag Racing is 75% car, 25% driver
Auto-X/ Road Racing is 65% car, 45% driver
Drifting is 25% car, 75% Driver
Bill proves that with his KA 240....

Drifting is my next fix after coming off of 100' doubles at the motocross track it's just as much up there, even if it is just going crazy. it's a weekend sprawl that doesn't take an excessive amount of commitment as did moto, just tires. but it does leave room for creativity in driving styles, also takes a lot of skill to be consistent and stay on edge.

because god told me i would go to hell if i didnt... nah jk...

but really , drag is fun... i have participated in the last 3 track days... but i love using my steeringwheel other than turning left and collecting my time slip ...

auto x is great, and drifting is just flat out fun!! variety is always great... baskin robins would never have succeeded if they didnt add 30 more flavors

drifting is the most expensive. there are stock classes for draging and auto-x but in drifting there are no classes.

is it becasue you do not like other forms of motorsports, you can not affford other forms of racing,or your car is not capable enough to do other things?

seems like this would get old since there are no lap times for you to improve on because it is all juding right?
well i dont know if it was just a cheap shot at the drift cars or what...

well anywho, i agree with a lot of points that were made so far, especially with charles and his % break down. shin 180 put it the best when he said, "drag racing is for fast cars, but corners are for fast drivers." if you think about it, in a straight line, the car drives you. when you are at a auto x, track course, or drifting you need to drive the car.

if you gave a professional golfer a set of decent clubs to compete against an amateur(amateurs having top of the line clubs), the pro would still win.
if you gave professional track runner a pair of decent track shoes to compete against amateurs (the amateurs having top of the line track shoes), the pro track runner would still win.
if you gave a professional drag racer a decent car to race an amateur with an exceptional car, there is no way that the drag racer could win. the drag racer is held back by his car.
if you were to give Nobuteru Taniguch (driver of s15 HKS Hyper Silvia) any car, he would be able to out drift any amateur in any track any time of the year. this is also true with any track course driver being able to out drive any drag strip driver. all track drivers can go in straight lines, but not all drag strip drivers can take corners at fast speeds.

what is the point of having a 1000hp track car if you cant drive it around the corner to buy some milk? what is the point of have so much horse power if you cant control it?
