why do you guys drift?

That transition from spin to grip isn't hard on the driveline?

1 turn right from the bat
1 follow up 40 feet from that
1 turn 50-60 feet down track to the right
1 turn to the left about 40 feet or so
straight for 20-25 feet and 1 left turn which is slightly pitched but not quite a turn then into 1 right hand turn about 60-70 feet down track into 1 last turn probably 30 feet from there.
And transition from moving to slowing down slightly is LESS harsh then 4,000 rpm DROPS of the clutch making mush of your whole driveline.
When you are in the rpm's and going around a corner , things are moving, spinning and in motion.Take them and slow them just a bit and you dont have much wear and tear at all, hell I do that daily driving to school and home.
Now sit at a stop light and rev to 3-4 grand and drop it and what do you have ? Lots of tq or joules being applied to things at a sudden instant and not over a period of time like the process of slowing or increasing speed on a drift course.

You arent on the brakes hard either. You just cant drift, that is all. You are on the brakes hard only if you cannot drive the course at its intended speed .You shouldn't need brakes on any drift course if you are good enough to know the speed it takes into it,

I would've like to have seen people learning other techniques other than e-brake and power over at Primus.

Not totally true buddy. One of the ways of initiating a drift, other than pulling e-brake (haha), is brake drifting where you come into the corner hot and on the binders.

What I was saying about the brakes though is true. I didn't mean it in the way of E braking to drift,I meant using the regular foot pedal to slow down to make the next turn. Drifting slows you down in each turn, that is all you need and if you cant drive the course correctly then of course you will always be on your brakes. If you can , then you dont need them until the end when you must stop.
I wasn't talking about e-brake either. Using the foot pedal is a method of initiating the drift when coming in hot. One of the objects is to go as fast into the corner as possible so slowing yourself down is a must and getting on the binders to point of just before lock-up will send you happily sideways assmuming you are turning into the corner that is.
yeah but its impossible with abs and i think i proved that shit abs drifting sucks!

it is possible with abs. you dont ever lock up the wheels, you just shift the weight hard to the front when you brake into a turn, and break traction with the accelerator.
this is normally the way i step it out. sometimes ill ebrake if im understeering badly, but i dont have enough power or a strong enough clutch to rely on those techniques directly.
