if the speed limit is 55mph and traffic is stoped, you don't get to do 55 thru the cars you dumbasses. you have to go slow. like 5-10mph and if you can't ride you bike slowly between to stoped cars without hitting them. then you should have failed the msf course... and we need much better driver and rider training in the country anyways.
its kinda like a no right on red sign on a blind corner. it shouldn't be needed. if you pass the dmv test, that means you should be smart enough to know if you have time to pull out or not. having a sign to tell you is as retarted as needing a sign at every intersetion telling you to know pull out in front of on coming cars.... that's just part of driving. the idea is don't fucking crash. somehow people don't get that.
exactly if traffic is stopped i dont see a problem splitting under 15mph and i will do it, you guys can sit there in 100% weather and let you bikes idle at 230 degrees all you want it is not unsafe and guess what if there happens to be a cop in that traffic he cant pull me over anyway unless his car folds up an turns into a bike! and if its a motorcycle cop you better believe he already split his way through the traffic.

i agree though if you mind your speed and dont squid it revving your motor and doing 50 mph...Call me squid call me what you will but ya'll can sit there and roast in the sun while i get to where i need to be

Sitting in traffic is more dangerous, cars forget you are next to them and begin to drowned out your bikes exhaust tone over time. Next thing you know they merge right into you. And we all know the longer drivers sit in traffic the more aggressive they get to change lanes and be alittle bit further to where they want to go. Bikers are more safe lane splitting (if it was legal and if done at moderate speeds) then sitting in traffic. You could argue the possibility of heat stroke etc.. too.

I'm not sure if there are statistics to support it, but I assume you haven't driven through L.A. rush hour.... It's jammed, but most drivers use things like turn signals and common sense there. Almost every day in Tampa, some ignorant asshole tries to kill me.
