Has anyone seen or heard of these?
It's not really doing much. Just bad judgment on his part. Lane splitting on US19 at 5:15... eh not so smart.

I guess you could argue it is a bad comparison since proper U-Turns are significantly more dangerous than proper lane splitting (anything is dangerous if not done properly), but I was just trying to illistrate a point. After all, how many times have you seen news stories of people making U-Turns in front of on-coming traffic causing accidents, people U-Turning at the same time someone is making a right hand turn into the same lane causing accidents, etc. I know I personally don't see many news stories about bikes wrecking because they were creeping past stopped traffic.
In any case, I just thought the post was funny. Lane splitting is not inherently dangerous, it is lack of education and training that is dangerous.
