Bitemark, I agree with you and maybe just didn't word it correctly.

A slower high rpm shift and waiting for the revs to come down to match the next gear (w/o causing the tires to break can cause a reduction in the cars momentum). This is what I was attempting to explain the gain vs. loss is. Also, I was speaking to the particulars of my car/tires and my experience at the track (I do not regularly have that problem on the street). For me, by shifting slower I achieved a better timeslip b/c the wheelhop inevitably would cause me to have to back off the gas to regain control on the 1-2 shift)

I never speed shift. Just shift as quick as possible. I have enough potential breakage as it is.

Ok, that makes sence, but do you only speed shift between gears that you can spin your tires, or do you do it where traction isn't an issue as well?

BTW If I were to speed shift in 2nd or 3rd I would have no traction at all, so it isn't an option in those gears for me.

yea but with 700+ ftlbs-tq there is always a chance for breakage, so its quite understandable...can u break em loose in 5th?

Are u asking me? I always speedshift whenever racing. But if one has to not speedshift due to traction issues then IMO they need a stickier tire. Gotta do what u can to achieve the lowest ET.

You'd be surprised what a good computer tune done on a dyno with wideband can net you in RWHP. The later LS1's get very good results out of intake, exhaust, and PCM tuning. Get in touch with Jeremy at www.fasterproms.com .
