do the math.

more reasonable numbers...for 6000 a civic hatchback can easily have 200whp.
2200/200whp= 11:1
3560/300whp= 11.86:1

my point the numbers do not lie. so anyone who can prove otherwise show me some numbers and show me some 1/4 mile times in daily driven mustangs on daily driven tires.

*2200lbs is the weight of a 5th generation hatchback.(full interior ac no power locks no power windows etc.)
OK douche stick...take my car for example. 73 Dart Sport. 3000 lbs factory with a/c and smallblock v8.

For the same $6k Ill have a 680 horsepower smallblock. N/A thanks to some trick Indy heads and some other goodies. Single carb relatively mild street cam. So I guess what Im trying to say is ... fuck you and your economy race car.

Yeah I RULE!
Some of you mention this thing... handling? how come I never see most of you pussies displaying your handling at an AutoX? I may only go 14.8 in the 1/4 with my small V8 and 3300lbs of Ford.
And why the focus on IRS? Its not that good. A properly set up 5 link rear suspension (T/A + PHB etc) on a live axle is just as good or better any day.
As far as REAL racing goes... I dont see any MR2s (not to single anyone out really) or 2dr Civics or any Eclipses running in GT class World Challenge races. Mind you there are only a few Mustangs but thats the real fucking deal. Theres only 1 NSX even!
We all what what each other has... 4bangers want Torque V8s want MPG 4bangers get turbos and lose mpg V8s can get a few MPG at the expense of Torque
4bangers and Supras like it from a roll
V8s like it from still

I could care less mind you I will race anyone. There are FEW cars that can beat me BOTH at the strip and on the AutoX. Beat that. for example: a recent race-
Mustangs: 0:58 1:00 1:01 0:59
Civics: 1:05 1:03 1:05... let me add a fully race prepared swapped suspensioned SI that ran a :55 not EVEN nice to street drive
ITR: 1:01 with a VERY experienced autoX driver and a autoX suspension
CRX: 57 (my hats off to him)
a Z06 stock (mind you LEAF SPRINGS IN THE BACK) 57sec
Need more? I bet the Z06 has the best 1/4 mile times too!

Chetthewitt come to an autoX in May at Gville the drag strip will be open for test and tune likely as well or fuck well just streetrace. Ill win once and youll win once (maybe)... and whose car will be the better in driving? mine because I cant get anywhere without turning! Eat me.

-Shawn the closed minded
Im looking for a 1g DSM preferable AWD and definitely boosted

Fair enough.

Hopefully the above statement about being closed minded was not towards me. I know that you know I give credit to the imports when credit is due so do we need to go there ?

Scott you do give credit at times but in this particular thread you were beginning to just cut down Import 4 cyl drivers. Its OK Most V8 guys that seem import friendly usually resort to this at one point or another. Its fine. Its everyones right to an opinion.

Drag racing is fun.

My point exactly Flounder.

This reminds me of the people who Wont run me from a stop because I have All Wheel Drive. They picked their car not me. They must forget the amount of horsepower it takes to run my drivetrain and the fact that my little import car weighs 3200 lbs. I dont sit and bitch about it though. I picked my car.

Is this a joke? Or do you have some screwball mechanic doing all the work for you? Ive had my car nearly 4 years. Fixed a leak in the water neck a week after I bought it and replaced 2 Discount Auto u-joints with OEM ones.

Oh yeah Ive had to change the oil too.

Thats a relief. At least I know my E.T. is at least kind of respectable since I have half the cylinders and 2/5ths of the displacement.
