Power to weight means little to nothing otherwise we would all be driving motorcyles.

Wrong again ! The new Cobras have live rear axles and there are many Cobras on the board.
havent seen many mustangs running low 13s or high 12s and when they do its with slicks.
I run 12.80s on shitty hard-ass radials (not drag radials or sticky race radials) And it is a 5-speed car which makes it even harder. I will soon be much faster and still w/o a power adder or crazy cam. The record for a radial tire Mustang in the the mid 8s ! And it is not a tube car. And that is in the 1/4 mile not 1/8th !
Do me some power to weight ratios on that shit will ya please. Or find me a import that is within a few seconds of that please.
my point the numbers do not lie. so anyone who can prove otherwise show me some numbers and show me some 1/4 mile times in daily driven mustangs on daily driven tires.
I have a pile of time slips and more witnesses than I care to mention. Want to see any of the slips ?

I will never say Imports are better than domestics or 4 cyl are better than 8 but I do get really sick of you 4 cyl import guys have to understand and shit like that. I HATE to be bundled together with the assholes you guys are used to dealing with.
I went to the track tonight. I simply let some air out of my tires. Ran 10 or more runs. All 12.4 to 12.1. Then I drove home with my stereo A/C Leather Power everything...etc...
No thats not the fastest car in the world but it holds its own pretty damn well. Especially since my 2.0 4cyl engine that redlines at 7000 rpm is Stock no internals upgraded and has about 350 passes on it.
I guess Im saying that a word like SOME or even MOST would help.

Hopefully the above statement about being closed minded was not towards me. I know that you know I give credit to the imports when credit is due so do we need to go there ?
I also went to the track with my over 3000lb 2.0L I4 powered car and ran 12.5 FWD on radials and stock motor. I have no doubt that it is easier to make power with a larger engine and definatly easier to make tourqe but dont doubt a motor just because it is small I and Joe have around 400HP+ to the crank with a COMPLETELY stock engine. It is common for a supra to get 700-900HP to the wheels with the stock 3.0L motor they have. It is all about what you want to drive and spend money on. Have fun!

I agree with Joe and Eric dont bash others because of what they choose to drive. If I wanted to drag race only Id get a LS1 Z28. If only you guys knew how much fun it is for me everyday to drive a N/A 13 sec Civic that handles great and spanks lots of cars that it shouldnt.

Heres a none closed minded opinion for ya Ive had a FWD Turbo Talon that went 13.3 in the quarter and it costed about $800 a month to keep it running. I have a supercharged Z-28 that runs 11s and it aint cheap to keep that bitch running either. The difference is the Talon runs what the Z-28 ran before I put the blower on.
The simplest equation that I can think of is LSI+NOS=11s which faster than most any daily driven imports in Tampa that I know of.

You need official documentation??? Have you ever been to the track or even the timeslipes section on this message board?? The man just told you he runs 12.8 on street tires...N/A. My exs 94 Cobra went 12.20s on street tires. Bitemark46 runs 12s on street tires N/A and with IRS. Slobra runs low 12s on street tires as well as 1faststang Steeda46 and many others. Well this was with Et Streets not regular radial tires. But Bob Cosby went 11.95 with a stock long 99 cobra with very few other mods. And there is a stock motor mustang class they run into the 11s all day. Thats stock heads stock intake and throttle body. They run on slicks I believe though. My friend ran 13.5@99 launching at 3k with worn out BFG drags on his stock motor 92 coupe.
