Why dont you just trade the Cobra in on a Focus. Great daily driver and it will run circles around the Slobra at an auto-x.

62.4something...AND it was my first time out to an auto-x event. Not bad for a car that costs half of yours and makes less than half the power. At the next event Ill have some stickier tires too.

 

By the way...I am not talking trash about your Cobra. I have quite a liking to Mustangs and have one sitting idle in a garage waiting for a tranny rebuild and a new top (thanks to some fucking thieves). The speed is great but overall I feel the Focus is a much more fun car to drive even with a fraction of the power that the Mustang has...but Im working on that soon.

I fucked up your parade when I posted all of those expamples of cars autoxing against one another huh? heavy cars with big engines can turn just as well as light cars with little engines.

And FYI I run (hang out and bullshit with/race/etc) with a bunch of import cars every Thrusday night and often on other nights as well. Ranging from a variety of makes and models from Supras to DSMs to hondas to Nissans to a Protege even. I am the only domestic in this group. I have no bias against imports. I never said my car was that great either.

Goddamn what do people have to do to TEACH you stupid fuckers how to use LOGIC and REASON? Compare the WHOLE car. Not just the speed and price. If it is NEWER it has nicer things in it and will wear out later then an older one will (ie: the new car may still have life in 2010 the old car likely wont). The OLDER car has cheaper more available parts aftermarket has had more time to MAKE upgrades and their prices should have dropped (this is an advantage for you you have my agreement on this point). Newer cars look better because their paint is inherently newer an older car can be repainted but this starts negating the COST argument. I could go on and on.

So what happens when Ford meets Honda? they race. And someone leaves smiling. Theres no telling what will happen when Ford meets Honda really it depends on WHICH ford or honda and WHO is driving.

Actually...that weight saving is lost if the transfer isnt there. Acceleration in a vehicle transfers weight to the rear...front drive car loses traction. Rear car increases traction ...this is important to realize whether you drag race or autocross.

Also..if V8s are sooooo old school why are there no AA fueler rail drag cars with 4 bangers??? Hmmmmm. Why???? Ill tell you...because 8 cylinder engine is equivalent to TWO 4 cyliner engines (sort-a) Two is better than one. And saying V8s are old school is stupid. There are plenty of technological V8 engines out there. Its not like Honda holds the secret reciepe for performance or something. Geez.

Oh....and Id rather be seen cruising around in a new V8 Mustang than a comparibly priced Honda any day.

1. I assume that by a life you mean that you attend high school during the day and deliver pizzas at night so you do not have sufficient free time to reply.

2. I highly doubt that you have run against very many mustangs with 275+ hp. The fact is that the majority of mustangs on the street have 240 hp or less. Being a V8 head you should realize this.

3. What is intelligent about front wheel drive in regards to transferring power to the ground? You argue that if I had intelligence I would transfer my engine to a lighter chassis for better performance. Your own argument suggests that you are less intelligent than I because you have a front wheel drive vehicle.

4. 17mpg... It is actually quite acceptable for 320hp/317 lb.-ft. I can afford the gas.

5. overgrown hunk of metal engine... That is a unique description of a hand-assembled engine with a block made in Carmagnola Italy by Teksid (Ferrari Formula One).

6. 138mustangGT does know his place. I challenge you to show up at any autocross event.

first of all i am not in high school you tool. Second i do not use commas and periods because this is not school. You know your argument has lost all meaning and importance when you have no actual point other than to correct someones grammer. Trust me I am hurt i wish you would not be so bold as to say such horrible things. i said 275 hp because i was comparing my car to the new slow mustang gt. i thought it had 275 hp. Maybe i was wrong maybe it is even slower than i thought. you are an idiot i never compared fwd to rwd. i was simply telling you that since you are going to be running in a rwd car anyways you might as well transfer your engine into a lighter chasis. maybe you should go back to high school and learn how to read between the lines or was that a bad idea? God it would be horible to have your 320hp car in a car that ways less than 3000 lbs. and to top things off 17mpg in a 320 hp car sucks. the 64 vette came with a 327 cubic inch engine with 375 hp if you got the fuel injection; and that car could get 18 mpg all day with none of the technology from this day and age. I dont know why you are trying to prove to me that a car with a little over 300 hp witch is probably rated to the flywheel; witch means your car probably has closer to just plain 300 hp gets good gas mileage. One thing you will never prove to anyone is that v8s get good gas mileage so quit your pittiful attempt. You constantly call my car cheap and a beater. when you have never seen it. you have no idea if my car was repainted or if i have full interior or anything about my car. for all you know my car could be just as clean as yours.
