How much power would you guess your putting down dontsleep? I know my car comes with like 220hp from the factory.

To be sure, stock Mustangs are pretty damn slow for the most part. And the older you get, the slower they are. My '69 Mach I ran a whopping 11.xx at Sunshine and then with $6K in mods, I dropped all the way to a 13.88 in the 1/4. That's still slow as hell. The good part about Mustangs from the Fox's to present is that they respond very well to mods. Also, keep in mind that most Mustangs are NOT V8's and are basically designed with female drivers in mind as the target buyer. Just take an informal poll as you're out there driving around. Most will be 4 or 6 cyls being driven by girls.

That being said, for the bulk of their history, the Mustangs have been faster than the Chevy's you like so well.

I think the reason you've been taking so much flak is because your kill stories seem to imply that you have been beating slightly modded Mustangs with a stock 13 year old 4 door family car. If I were to do the same thing, I would challenge your 13 year old family car with my 12 year old girlie car and totally annihilate your car in the process. (But I won't do that 'cause it just wouldn't be right)

 

wanna try a 5.0 powered Ranger? only up to 80 mph though, as that's when my speed governor cuts in. damn thing...

I have a 9 year old 4door family car honda and I dont think we honda people get nearly the credit we deserve..... I raced a 2000 GT on a 200 shot (with intake,headers,exhaust and some other bolt ons) from a 40 roll and beat him by about 5 cars..... i agree that your big v8s can be fast but the point none of you are getting is so can hondas.... and the thing about a honda is on the street we hook up pretty damn good (god bless FWD) where a RWD domestic just puts on a smoke show....especially if they are making significant horsepower.... my car right now on about 15 psi should make about 310 to 320 whp tuned.... and it weighs about 2500-2600 pounds.... yet i can still beat domestics with upwards of 400... not talkin shit just stating a fact and im sure anyone on here who knows dave (99B16SI) knows how nasty turbo'd hondas can be... especially from a roll....i think some people on this site that do nothing but bash imports all day could use some research time on the computers which they think are good for nothing more than talking shit, to find out just how many fast hondas there are out there and that when it comes to cars/motors...size doesnt always matter.....

by the way in no way was this post intended to talk shit im just defending the other imports on this site that put up with the bashing and never come out and just state the facts... i do respect domestics and i actually used to own an older fox body, but i think that some of the domestic owners are not sharing this respect for cars in general and accepting imports as just another car that is also capable of making power just the same way you guys do...... just think about it..... that is all.......

that is actually probably true BUT my motor came straight from Japan..... ill just put ford emblems on it and no one will know the difference.....
