I work at Kuhn VW as a salesman. Let me know if I can help you find a TDI. I know for a fact I've got some in.

you can get lots more hp from a diesel with propane injection. We did it on a new ford turbo diesel truck and got almost 100whp more. So yes, they can be retrofitted with smaller propane kits and made much faster.

It honestly depends on the car. New VW have hardly any mark up. like $43.00 on a new jetta. The new TDI's right now are all going up all around the board cuz of gas prices. But with used cars it fluctuates with the way the market trend goes. Ive also only been here for 1 1/2 months so to the exact numbers I am not sure.

Yes 3" Really is better than 2.5. The best exhaust for turbo is no exhaust, the car already has enough back pressure from turning the turbine inside the turbo. 3inch will be louder but provide more hp. 3inch downpipe with NO exhaust will be loud and provide the best hp.

BTW there is markup at every dealership. Dealers make the most money off used cars because there is no set value and salesman can jack up prices as they please, and also quote yur trade in as having less value than it really has. Your best bet is buying from a private seller, same car just hasnt had 100 point inspection from the dealer . . . . .

I was told 3"TurboBack was too big for the stock K03/K04 turbos on the 1.8Ts. That's not to say it is though. Is the 3"TurboBack worth the extra money spent? I'm more than sure it is better but how much? I have yet to see dyno charts of similar cars to compare, or even hear what they sound like.
