I know very little. 18-19:1 compression ratio. Tuning will give you lotsa torque, not too much hp. I know they've been used in endurance racing like the 24hrs of Spa. Great fuel economy. That's about all I know.

With some mods(chip, larger exhaust, cai) they can be just as quick as a stock 1.8T, so i have been told. and they get 40mpg.

I was looking at getting a Golf TDI but there very hard to find.

Somebody told me that when you put exhaust and intake on them they get even better gas mileage. Can you put bigger turbos on them? can you make them "fast"?

good question about turbo upgrade...and of course with anything: when u put intake/exhaust, you get a little better out of it. but with the tdi, since you start out with more, you'll most likely get more...

So did I, couldn't find a Mk4 TDI golf in good condition to save my life. Then I saw my friend's GTI at Reeves and had to buy it. But with about 1500-2k you can make a far about of power. The big thing like gas engines is to chip it and get a larger exhaust
