i used to have a 99 beetle TDI .. slow as balls even with intake exhaust and a chip, it feels fast off the line due to the torque but it just top out "RPM" too fast, it red lines @ 4.5-5k rpms ..fun car but not fast at all.

on the good, its great on fuel, it will last forever, and trucker look at you stupid when you pull up next to diesel pump.

True its no GTI but you can still make some good power with a TDI. What Chip, cai , and exhaust did you have?

upsolute chip, no exhaust (factory muffler removed and straight pipe added) and an abd intake. the performance came from the suspension and wheels...kw-suspension stage 3 fully adjustable coilovers and struts and Italian Wheel Company 17 inch quick silver wheels that was made to fit flush with my fenders
I miss my car =(

A 2.5" or 3" TB exhaust would have made a big diff especially on a TDI

LOL Ive seen a Semi run a 13. You can make anything fast. Cam it to move up power band etc. But it can be made fast just have to WANT to do it and know what your doing. Do the research and you'll see what can be done.

Stay with the stock 2.25" w/ a 3"DP? I have thought about that w/ my GTI but the 3" is about $100 more than the 2.5", is the extra cash worth it? I haven't seen any dyno#s to make and informed decision.
