Sorry if I came off smug. I wasn't coming at you. Just trying to put, what I feel is, the correct info out there. Anyway, with enough money you can make either one fast as the dickens but based on the numbers I think displacement wins the battle.

The yellow gti in my sig is a MK3, thats the kind you want they didn't make a 1.8t till the MK4's which is like my car. The Mk3's are gonna be considerably cheaper in price.

 

ya i like the yellow one..i be looking for one when i sell the truck...i found a nice ass one but for not a bad price but its far away..found it on ebay..

I'm sure someone has already answered your question, but oh well.

The 1.8TURBO is the only turbo. (& in my opinion, it's the way to go.)

 

DEAR GOD!!!! If you buy that car, take that wing & those wheels off, PLEASE!

 

they almost look like porsche rims..umm im not its in new york..i just liked the set up...i would put the new 17" 5spoke that come stock with the newer 1.8ts...

 

if you actually ever end up buying any VW, i'll be surprised.

well they usually have a high price tag on them..i would like to get one for around $5k..and older one..i need to save my money..right now i dont have any..thats y i am tryin to sell my truck and get into somethin cheaper and somethin cheaper on gas...but im sure i wont find one for that cheap..so you are prolly right....
