SSp, I beg to differ on engine size and weight, this vehicle weights close to 7K lbs, probably about 6800. Crew Cab 4x4. It displaces 6.6L not 5.3. Don't call a bluff unless you want to see nice Black smoke on your windsheild. Tony knows what I am talking about if he reads this thread...Tony...let them keep guessing...silly rabbits, high test gas is too expensive. yet another clue in the mystery of this speed demon.

Well, you can't expect us to acknowledge your claims without giving some type of backup. You said intake, exhaust, a programmer, and shift kit and you expect me to believe low 13's.. if there is more to it, THEN mention that and stop acting like a tool.

You never mentioned engine displacement, you never mentioned weight, so I assumed the standard. You never mentioned fuel use, and still haven't mentioned extreme mods.. so until then, I'll continue to raise the ..if you feel like giving more info, then feel free.. I have no problem believing your claim and giving props where due, but don't expect everyone to bow down to your truck without giving up some details.

ok ok, it's a 2k3 2500HD, Duramax Diesel matted to a Allison 5 speed auto putting power down through an american axle and MFG 11.5" rear end. If you search, it is very easy to hit high 13's low 14's with just a programer and exhaust on these trucks. Everything else is factory (Injectors, turbo, heads, etc).

Ok - now that pretty much everyone has answered why they have the truck/suv they do. Have you modified it at all? If so, what have you done to it? And what do you plan to do with it?

We have only tinted the windows and installed an alarm (w/ remote start that doesn't work...damn secret services...jk ken) and an Alpine in dash DVD player.

We would like to get the tow package installed as well as a brush guard (maybe) and chrome rims. I want spinners but we'll probably just end up getting 20's or 22's - someday in the long future ahead of us.

ETA: We also want to put in a permament dog gate since Rhett goes everywhere with us and it'll be easier than carting his freaking huge ass crate around!

That's more like it. 2500HD is a great truck.
