My new Shop Opinions...
Well, I am going to keep this in the Subaru section for now. SpecVMatt gave me a good idea to get opinions on the shop.
Tell me what you think makes a good shop.
I.E. Comforts, Readily available parts, and so on.
Some people like a lounge area to watch TV and relax while there car is being worked on. Others like to have soda machines...and what not. As of right now, My lounge area will have a flat screen TV with couches, pepsi fridge, and what not. There are 2 seperate bathrooms in the shop. I am going to make it very comfortable for customers while waiting for a tune, or for small repairs/work. I want to make this shop not for me, but for the customers. So with that being said..
What would you like to see?
What parts would you like on hand?
Tell me whats on your mind.
PLEASE PM me with what you think. I want to know what you all want and need, but this is for MY SHOP. Not to give any other shops Ideas. Thanks!!
Matt

6. Offer free estimates.
7. Customer Service
8. Try and stay open!!
9. Keep in touch with people on there cars and work.

boobies... must have boobies
Mine are general and coming from the perspective of working within a shop.
1. No frills for the customers.
You don't want them "hanging out" or meandering around the shop EVER. They need to be in and out and know that there is no bullshitting around.
2. Obtain and stock hard to find parts. These can always make you money when you're not doing bread and butter labor.
These are general things that everyone should know but few abide by. Spend your money on good tools and skip the area for the customers.

stock the little shit people need on a whim.... race gas, gaskets, couplers, fuel pumps etc. Unless the shop is going to be a hang out spot then there is not much that you need more then what you mentioned. I love what CFT does......have a camera on the dyno with live feed to the shopd webpage......so awesome.
