Default Machine shops/ motor build.

it sucks that there isnt any local machine shops that have ecperience ej257 builds. I'm looking into building a motor and I would like to go with a used block and get it re honed and bored but I can't find any local machine shops that have experience with ej257's. It would save me a good amount of money to just have a used sb bored and rehoned but I need to feel confident in the machine shop doing the work.

Also, looks like it's either build the motor myself, send it off out of state to get built by someone who knows subie motors or let a shop try to build it and take responsibility if it breaks do to build error. Damn why cant there be more subie motor shops inf fl. lol

Well, I know S&R will build the motor. They do good work, but if there is an issue afterward I don't see any shop having a warranty unfortunately.

Find Bertune on nasioc, he lives in south FL, find out who built his motor. I'm pretty sure it was someone local to him. His setup is pretty insane, 600whp on 93 pump.

Godwin-Singer!!! They are building mine, fitbikeco., and many other motors. I go up there daily and they do everything from boring lawn mowers to building strokers and race car motors. They even have a certified deseil mechanic that rebuilds them from the ground up. 1 of 5 shops in the U.S. that still makes bearing in house!

JB Racing in Tavares. They do all custom machining in house. Build BMW and Porsche race motors almost constantly. Also custom manufacture flywheels, balance cranks, etc etc. My dad and I have used them many times and they always deliver. Not sure if they would do a subaru motor build, but I know they can do the machining. If they can't do anything they won't try to get your business. They are totally honest and won't attempt it if they don't know they can do it.

Im assembling my motor myself in my garage as from the research ive done its no different than any other forged motor, or I would say have Darkside put it together they put together alot of forced induction motors with great results and they will stand by all their work as for any building failure they will take full resposibilty, look at miguel motor runs 50psi with no problem, they may not put have put a subi motor together but thay know what is required to make a forced induction motor stay together and last!!!

as for warranty work if a shop assembles your motor and in the first 1000 miles spins a bearing due to not measuring a bearing clearance properly I feel they are at fault and should take resposiblity
