well even if they dont pay me for the parts, im buying it back. so its probably better they dont know, because then they would charge me more to buy it back. and i may not have insurance after this is over, ive already cost them like $300k now lol

so sorry about your car man. i cringed when i saw the pic. only thing that got my attention was that you were using cruise control. if i remember right, a few years back people were blowing their motors from using the cruise control. something about the ecu not being able to control the a/f properly. might want to do a search on it because i dont remember exactly. anyway alot of things can happen after blowing your motor. hot oil, coolant, wiring melting etc. just something to think about and research so you don't have the same problem in the future. good luck and i'm glad you are ok.

I never blew the motor.... and I guess I have to retract my cruise control statement, I forgot when we put the new wheel in that the cruise control wasn't wired up. It's actually part of the steering wheel, not on the column, so I said fuck it.

I would contact an attorney ASAP... your car is an 06, it's 2008 and it wasn't an aftermarket part/install that caused the fire!?
SOA might be partially or completely liable, so check it out.
Guys, learn from everyone else's mistakes (even though LD's is much less obvious) -- carry a fire extinguisher in your car and make sure you have good tire tread!

I talked to insurance yesterday and the claims adjuster said because the car is so new and still under warranty (*shifty*) that they will definitely take this up with subaru.
