Driving home tonight my check-engine light came on and the cruise control light started blinking (on for one second, off for one second, on, off, etc). I had been on cruise for like 2 minutes just prior then had to stop for a light and turned it off. I noticed the CEL while still in the intersection. The engine sounds and feels just fine. I'm assuming the cruise crapped out because a) the cruise light is flashing and b) the cruise doesn't work any more. Any suggestions?

You can't even imagine how annoying a green blinking light is in an all-red gauge pod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I had the same thing on my LGT. It's normal if you have no cats in the DP, and no cel fix or no tune. The previous owner may not have had a cel fix because you mentioned he had the Accessport.The AP cleared mine up when I flashed it. I know you talked about wanting an AP, but if you have no plans for tuning you may want to look into a cel fix, unless of course you like the new lights, flashes, and not being able to use your cruise control. Just to be safe though, you may want to get the code pulled to find out what it is exactly.

I was pulling away from a stoplight granny-style.... Guess I'll have to get down there and check for the CEL fix. What's funny is if it is the oxygen sensor, why did it come on just now? On our WRX the CEL comes on whenever I romp on it then stays on until I reset the ECU...damn technology

 

I get a CEL sometimes and I have a mechanical fix. I just reset the ecu and it goes away.
