Complete 1986 H/O 5.0 Engine
This is simply case of someone (iApex's uncle) erroneously thinking the engine is worth more than it really is. Waaaaaaay more than it really is! (unfortunately) We've all come across people that have seen a Hemi cuda sell for 1 million on Barrett -Jackson so they think the four door, 6 cylinder, 1976 Dodge Dart they just dragged out of the woods MUST be worth at least 20k. This is kind of like that.
iApex: The 700.00 Stealthmode offered is a VERY fair price for that stuff. It's really nice of you to try to help your uncle out. Perhaps you can help educate him and he can put a few dollars in his pocket. If he wants to hold out for 2500.00 or more, there is really nothing you can do about it. At least you can say you tried, right?

That's what my plan is. He's not an asshole so I'm sure he will understand that prices fluctuate. And if he doesnt, I tried. Thanks for understanding
SO WHERE IS THE T5 % SPEED TRANSMISSION??????
The main concern with an engine that has been sitting like that for that long is.....
1 surface rust from condensation on the cylinder bores and the faces of the valves and seats.
2 Rings could be a problem due to the engine sitting and not having any heat cycles from the engine running.
3 seals getting dry and brittle from not having any lubrication from the engine not running.
4 The valve springs on certain cylinders have been sitting with the valves open and tension on the valve springs from being collapsed.
5 bearings really shouldnt be an issue due to the oiling system leaving a coat of oil between the crank and the bearing.
I am sure I could think of other things that could possibly be an issue.
Certain procedures would need to be performed before that engine could be installed in something and ran.
If you are going to let an engine set up for any length of time it is best to remove the valve covers and loosen up the rocker arms.
Pull the spark plugs and generously lube the cylinders, reinstall spark plugs and rotate that engine by hand monthly to keep oil moving around between the cylinder wall, rings, and pistons.
We have so much humidity here in florida, unless that engine was stored in a climate contolled atmosphere,it most likely has surface rust simply from condensation from the heating and cooling of the metal.
Metal doesnt necesarily need to be exposed to the elements to form rust.
I think that 700.00 is a fair offer.
SO WHERE IS THAT TRANSMISSION?????
BETTER YET THE REST OF THE CHASSIS???????

GET SOME

Learn what? that you intended to get a few thousand for a motor that gets given away on here? A motor that gets changed out more times than you change your panties? Thank you sensei, I sure have learned something
That speed density harness can be used with mass air if you know how to repin the harness to the EEC. There are conversion articles galore across the internet. Could probably get $50/$75 for it so long as nothing has been snipped off or broken. I converted the speed density harness in my old 88 GT around a decade ago.
