ya i know but here are my reasonings...
- im spending $3800 on paint alone...it will be no difference in cost to paint the hood or not to paint it
- the hood is the largest flat surface on the car. its also going to be receiving the most amount of direct sunlight and will be able to show off the pearls in the paint the most.
- even though the seibon hood is one of the best i can buy the clear on it will start to peel in like a year or two and i dont care to bother with wet sanding, buffing, and re clearing it that soon.
-their are 3 other frost white preludes in the bay area. 2 have jdm h22a swaps, 1 has a turboed h23a vtec, all 3 have carbon fiber hoods and all 3 have black housing headlights. granted my paint is going to be a very different looking white i still dont want to go to a show and have 3 other white ludes with black headlights and carbon hoods. lol
-white with carbon hoods is a little played

but i opened the seibon hood at the shop and it is FLAWLESS and looks so damn beautiful!
its a tough choice.

All very good points. You could rock it for a little while carbon, then painted it once it started to fade. Sure it won't be paid by insurance then, but so what, painting a hood isn't that much.

I wouldn't paint it all because of other peoples cars. Yeah I'll admit it's played. But so are so many other trends. I would drop all other considerations and just look at what you like the look of more. Then pick that. In the end your building the car for yourself and no one else.

lol ya i know i know! i do just build my car for me and thats why im so torn. the paint job i am getting is beautiful and i want my car to be really clean and i think the carbon will break up the exterior and it will look a little less clean in my opinion so i will probably paint it but i really love the carbon look too.

im leaning towards painting it...

Actually if you know of any Si or vtec models for sale let me know. Picked up an 04' cbr600rr recently and looking for a suttle daily. Wouldn't mind a 3rd lude to suite my needs.

haha, yea... riiiight. he already has something else in his sites. the only reason he is considering selling it is because he might be getting a late student grant from last semester and if he sold his lude he can get this other thing for a great deal with the extra cash.

ill load some of the pics i have tonight and send them to you man with some extra info.

Buy an extra stock hood and have it painted with the car. That way you if you get tired of the cf hood, you'd have a matching hood.
