which dsm turbo should i go with my d16y8
that was me, im stoned and forgot to log out of kelly's name....i saw trips dyno, and i saw the guy's dyno who put down 300 at garage advance, theres nothing hard to believe about it, D series is basically made for a turbo in that is lower compression and has a cylinder head that accomodates it very well, it even makes more torque than most similar B series turbo setups...

the other hand is it may be possible but its not realistic or common

Well first off... *sigh* Im a little drunk so bare with me if I fuck up a little.
The y8 manifold wont fit directly on a z6 head you will have to modify it slightly because it'll have a huge vacuum leak.
a big 16g can get you to your goal, except your going to have to run 20+psi.
a 20g will take forever to spool but will also get you there.
I don't see either turbo being streetable.
Here's how I see you getting this to work...
A DECENT manifold, not an hf it'll break apart from such exhaust flow.
An external wastegate, a FULL 3" exhaust because you'll need every bit of it. You won't be able to retain AC.
A BUILT ASS HEAD I can't stress this enough, although the vtec heads are very good and flow really well. You will need all the VE you can get out of it and as much flow as possible.
Sleeves...
low 8's compression.
FORGED RODS
450cc injectors will work.
HONDATA or other standalone. You wont get there w/o this.
Good luck, best wishes. I don't see this happening for you with out 10 grand and lots of tuning.

i can see maybe 200-240 max and that’s pushing it hard
b18c1 with a nice drag kit with hondata will put down 275whp+
b18b1 with a drag kit and hondata 240whp+
now look at the base hp with those two engines
c1 170hp cr 10.0:1
b1 140hp cr 9.2:1
d16y7 more or less 100whp
now when you exceed the 14psi (more or less pending block condition) you run the risk of cracking, melting, blowing, etc the sleeves
yes this doesn’t have to be a daily car but my biggest point is the simple fact that there is no way to make that much hp with a d 16y7 i could see maybe a sleeved y8 with some great head work and allot of money invested in a turbo kit
the hf mani is a great idea because of the plentiful of them and the price but the flow of it isn’t the best for the numbers you want a tubular mani is almost the only way to go imo
not to mention the flow of the d series heads simply sucks in comparison to the b series simply their economy engines
ya sorry for being a "internet hardass" in my first reply but your hp estimations are just ungodly high
now id love to see a d series do that but its not realistic
greatest thing about d series is that their a lot cheaper that b series so when you blow one you can pick up another for a lot less than a b series which makes the idea of building a d series all that much sweeter
