A pop off is something that helps restrict or limit boost, I think you mean bypass valve.

Older turbo Datsans used a pop-off valve to limit/bleed boost @ 7psi, just incase the wastegate failed.

Well, I saw a guy point at a Greddy Type S and call it a pop off valve.... IDC
