Official Nissan Tech shit talking thread
lol... I bet i could lift my car using my wastegate flange. Mild steel log manifold ftw!
Since your not mr top fabricator then you dont know clearances have a big part on how you build something. Dont talk till you learn that.
So you say being different falls under being stupid. Ok so since you did a v8 instead of a sr you are stupid. (btw ls1 swap is so 2001 brah)You should not talk bad about my customers cause some of them are on TR and seeing you calling them dumb. So my costumer with the 700 awd hp evo civic is stupid for being different.
I dont have all my pics on the website cause there would be millions of pics. I know how to weld and im damn good at it. Ill post up my welds if you would like me to prove you wrong. Plus childhoodproductions is another company of my friends brothers so why dont you talk shit about the right company jackass.

BTW weld-el's for turbo manifolds are so 2000, "brah"
Goddamn you are dense.
That's a great example of how the pissing matches get way out of hand. By the way, I'd just like you to know that the manifold that I'm building will be made from Inconel with Cosworth repurposing their F1 design and testing data for my application. It'll be welded with FR's robotic welder while Geoff Raicer and I do The Robot. The whole assembly will be cryo and WPC treated for strength, which will be necessary so that I can lift the entire car up by the wastegate flange, as designed in Pro-E supported by thorough FEA. By the way NASA wants me to build a second one for their next lunar vehicle. So, Z28Ricer, I see you're building headers using mild...
Ah hah, I knew there was a better material for my temporary headers, i'm going to order some inconel right now

Oh things got out of hand due to driftretard running his mouth about building a manifold from mild steel to verify everything you want is correct, being a dumb idea.
Sorry but i'll take the words from burnsstainless over some tard bragging about his tig welding, when thousands of other people do it every day, plenty better than him.

Whats wrong with weld-els. Thats what full-race uses thats what peak boost uses.

At the horsepower levels I want, (400-450 rwhp), a properly built SR20, how I would do it if i'm bothering, would probably run about $10,000 total for the entire drivetrain. This would still leave me with an engine that half of the parts arent available locally and fast (this is a daily driver build), an engine that is short on torque (see daily driver reference), an engine that requires boost to make said power levels, and probably a turbo mounted as such that i'd be playing the silly games everyone around plays with trying not to boil brake fluid, cruising on the highway at 3500-3800 rpm, an alternator that puts out a whopping 80 amps.
For half that I can install the engine I am, have a 140-150a alternator, parts availability for anything I might need, a hell of a lot more torque, an extra overdrive gear, a 12" dia clutch, did i mention a lot more torque ? Cruise rpm's in the jack shit, to nothing range, and not need to shift at 8k to do this. Oh did I mention have a pcm that will fully control fans, based on temperature and speed, on a high/low setup (series and parallel, but you probably dont know how that works), and be able to hit all this with a little bit of nitrous, putting things in the 650 HP @ flywheel range, not too bad for a daily driver and at half the cost, with better daily driveability, and full parts availability.

Yeah cause mild steel headers are gay ass shit. Im aloud to brag about my great tig welding cause im great at it. When you learn to tig weld then you can brag too untill then your shit looks like ass. Should I suggest to full race to start making all the manifold in mild steel is that a good idea.

I didnt say anything was wrong with using them, but you want to run your mouth like you are producing Ti, or inconel manifolds around here, and are too dense to realize that for the application the mild steel headers are plenty good enough, let alone the fact that I was planning for them to be temporary.
I wasnt bragging on my welding, but like I said, your manifolds in the picture albums definetly dont all look shit-hot, sorry that mild steel will work just fine for the exhaust gases escaping from my engine, and not need to support anything, have fun needing to support a turbo, because your engine cannot make the power numbers without it.
Since you are stupid, and cannot possibly comprehend something, without it being completely laid out in front of you...

I know you were not bragging if you knew how to read you could see I said nothing about you bragging. Like I said before give me the word and ill post up all kinds of my welds to prove you wrong.
And yes ill have alot of fun with my turbo
you just make sure to have fun with your stupid ass push rods.

This argument reminds me of that epic 300zx argument a while back. With the dyno/race challenge and everything.
Drifthappy, I need some pipes for my motorbike. You can do this?
