Default SE-R People (Spec V or plain SE-R)

Who has one? What mods have you done? What kinda time slips do you have? Dyno sheets? I drove the SE-R and the SE-R Spec V a few times and fell in love with them. The only reason the Spec V has a tad more hp is because of the better exhaust, right? Beyond that, I liked the normal SE-R interior better than the Spec V. I could do w/o the 6spd and rougher ride suspension for a few $K less. Figured it'd be a cheap, reliable way to get close to 200hp to the wheels w/o using any forced induction methods. Have been considering this car for a long time and would appreciate any comments on the vehicle...

you won't get 200hp at the wheels without nitrous, sorry.

Real SE-R's are 91-98. The new ones should not be badged that way. The old ones can go high 14's with basic bolt on's. No way on the new SE-R's. Just my opinion.

gotta go with the spec v...

my friend has an SE-R base and it runs pretty high rpm's on the highway (dont know how they geared it...but from what he tells me it sounds like its the same gearing as a Spec V without the 6th gear).

surprising, I've heard a few people tell me that they've run 14.8 - 15.1 with just I/H/E and a few other bolt ons in the V spec. Haven't seen the sheets to prove, but I kinda believed them since they dont feel very sluggish. Maybe thats just me not being used to torque though. lol.

I know a few guys in FL running mid 14s with basic bolt ons on the stock 17s. I hit 196.7hp and 204.6tq with my Spec V with 50 shot, intake, header, pulley, and the ugliest crush bend exhaust evaR! Right now JWT is prototyping cams and what not. You won't hit 200hp without FI anytime soon but just give it a little more time and I see no problem in it. And get the Spec V...its comes with a HLSD unlike the regular SER. Check these site out too...

I have an '02 SE-R non Spec V and its pretty fast stock. On a good day I can make 15.7's. This is on stock rubber and everything too. But I would definitely reccomend that you get the Spec. I've seen ones with I/E run 14.7-14.8's. And max all motor HP Ive heard of is SCC's Rally Spec that laid down 176.

You can go for a ride but I don't have the spray any more. I'm going to be the first Turbo Spec V in the Tampa area. And I do love the 6 speed even though you don't really need it.

I've got a 97 se-r, but it sounds like you are talking about the new ones. I have a small t25 turbo and run 11psi.. no accurate dyno numbers yet. Will have some as soon as i get my clutch problem fixed. Best 1/4mile to date on drag radials is 13.177@105.38 with a shitty 2.1 60' time. Slicks should be at my door step tomorrow and clutch will be fixed in the next few weeks. 12's here I come
