i'm gonna have to agree. sounds like the timing is wrong.

someone posted the FSM pages here - KA24DE Timing - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

you can open it up and see if the timing is right.
A) see if the lobes are pointed the right directions at the right time.
B) manually turn the engine over until the timing marks line up. They only line up one way.
(as seen here - http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...re021Small.jpg) It can take a while to spin and spin and spin the engine over to get them to line up, but it might be worth the time and effort if you don't want to just tear it all apart and re do the timing.

in the vid, you can hear some popping in the intake, which supports the timing being wrong. The revving part is strange. Could be something stupid, like the timing is wrong, it backfires into the intake, that hot air tweaks with the MAF and that makes the ECU think it needs to dump more fuel.
You said it doesn't do that if the MAF is off?
Have you gone over the whole thing to check for vacuum leaks? every gasket is good? every line is good?
You are 100% sure the throttle body closes as it is supposed to, right?
Have you looked at the idle air control valve yet? Is it stuck open or something dumb like that? I'm assuming it won't even idle at all if it is unplugged, right?
Have you ruled out the possibility of the problem being spark related? (not spark timing, but the spark itself)

It almost sounds like you have a few things wrong with the engine and it is causing that problem.

I will be checking the timing soon, It idled like this with or without the MAF. I checked everywhere for vacuum leaks, I only have two vacuum lines left after my delete (brake booster and FPR). TB closes all the way, I found that the butterfly valve in the one that came on the engine did not it is fixed now. I will probably yank the IACV off tonight to check it out. When I shot the previous video there was a problem with plug wire number three that I stupidly looked over, I fixed that now and shot a new video this afternoon. The idle is getting better and better but still isn't quite right.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WrKtI06SSI Something I think may be worth mentioning, the brake pedal is wayyyy hard. I can't fully press it even with all of my weight, and as you can see in the video I'm no lightweight. When I pushed it down as far as I could I got maybe an inch or so of travel and I had to pull it back up. Could the booster have shit the bed and be causing my vacuum leak-like idle?

BTW:

Thanks!

yea, if the diaphram inside the booster is melted it will cause a high idle.

I took the IACV off tonight and cleaned it out. It wasn't really dirty at all, also no blockages. Still I cleaned it. I also found that the "idle screw" was turned all the way in, so I backed it out till the little hole was completely cleared. I couldn't start it up yet cause it is kinda late and I don't want to piss off my neighbors late in the evening.

Is the KA24DE an interference engine? I want to check before I possibly ruin valves.

I think I found the source of the idle issue. My clutch was malfunctioning so I yanked the engine out to inspect and decided to pull the IM off to check everywhere for cracks/uncovered vacuum nipples. I apparently cleaned all of the old gasket of the IM but neglected to take all of it off the head mounting surface. So that is all fixed now, I hope, now I'm just waiting on a replacement PP and clutch.
