clutch fan wont disengage
When I bought my car the ps pump didn't have a tensioner it squeaked like bats in hell..
So I bought the tensiorer now it doesn't squeak but it does not let the clutch fan disengage
What is wrong?

Might be just a coincidence. I've had 2 go on me in this past year. When they go you sound like a dump truck ALL THE TIME!! They are worth replacing...short of good dual fans you cant get any better. The clutch has just gone on you fan. Some of the squeaking could have been the clutch fan going...maybe??
Replace it and move on. I double you could repair one...never heard of it being done any way.

Yeah, just replace it with another one... they are like 10 bucks from anywhere...
Just a fyi, they don't totally disengage. There is a high and low speed.
So it will spin all of the time. When it gets hot, it grabs on and spins as fast as the engine.

you have electric fans...
well... there are a bunch of different ways to do it.
run it from a 12v constant to a switch
or pull power from a 12v switched
or a combo of both
or get a whole set up that allows the fans to operate like they are supposed to at certain temps. Could be a bit more involved but it is "technically" the right way.
just google it, you'll find more info than you'll know what to do with on the first page
