Default Newbie question for the ages

Going to install and tune an AEM ECU on a s13 sr20det. But I was told that the stock maf will do fine cuz im tuning the ecu if done correctly. But I find that hard to believe... Someone please enlighten me before I spend my new actuator money on a part I dont really need...

Stock maf is good for like 250hp from what I was told, anymore and a z32 maf is your best bet.

okay i have a 3.5 map bar sensor on order. Also wat is the max and safe boost for a DD t28 bb with a HKS actuator with stock internals for a s13 sr20det. Yes I did read thru the forums and alot of the past discussions are dated back in 06 07. Its 2010 so things change and people experiment and discover new ways. have upgrades like greddy FMIC, rockers, 750cc injectors, and etc... typical build just wanna make sure im still riding a month from now....

just dont cheap out on tuning and you will be fine. get someone that know exactly what to tune and how to tune for what you will be doing with your car. get ahold of martin, he will make sure you are riding a year from now.

yeah i got a good tuner on busch at R&I automotive named collins he is national and internationally know and guiding me right with my build so far. Tellin me when to spend and how instead of trying to say buy all this stuff just to gain 5hp. tellin me the crucial components to buy and why, breakin it down for a newbie nah mean.

charging like 400 i believe for the tune and a few dyno runs to make sure its done right. Using the dyno at proven turbo near 301 i believe thats the right name. watch him tune my homies ricer there one time took as much time as was needed nah mean pays real attention to detail
