Newbie question for the ages
For one my guy has sat down with me and told me what I need to buy inorder to accomplish and achieve certain goals in certain areas like high end and low end power and different ways of achieving your power goals without spending all your funds just buying what you read about in magazines with them companies with sponsored builds fronting like they local DIY clubs. At the end of the day if you find a brand new AEM ECU series 2 in the box with seals still on for 1100, who in their right mind wont jump on it... Really dont understand all the the people tryna critisize my post because all Im trying to do is get answer and different opinions from people I thought would want to help someone out thats in the position where alot of you started and understood the fustration of watching your ride sit in the garage why you trail and error different attempts to achieve yout performance goals. Yes its the same post on ziliva because their are different people on that site that may have different opinions on the same matter that might be helpful to me.
Dont understand all the BS on the post when all Im trying to do is pick brains and get my ride back on the road. If you really dont have anything help to contribute to my build then just avoid my post because i trying to make things happen on my side and if you are having a bad day and need someone to f§$k with get a dog. Aight appreciate the ones that truly spittin out knowledge and tryna school a newbie. How is my english know...
I was giving you legitimate advice. I told you what the deal was exactly with a standalone and a T28 and that it was way overkill for a T2 framed turbo. Its like hunting dear with barrett 50 cal. There are other standalones I would personally prefer over AEM's anyway. If you got a good deal - more power to ya.
If you want real advice - ditch the entire setup. Go with a chevy gen 3/4 smallblock build (LQ9/LQ4/LM7/LS1/LS2/LS3 - in no particular order). You'll make more power for less money with better driveability, good fuel mileage with a decent tuner and your engine won't be a ticking fucking time bomb waiting to grenade (you could run 91 octane if you wanted to have it tuned for that at those power levels). You also wont need to fortify your bottom end (Hotrod mag has tested stock LQ9 internals to upto 750hp and was only limited by the blower).
You also won't find a more developed engine platform, deal with shitty egotistical importers or wait on shit like CAS/igniters + pay a fortune if shit goes bad.
^ That is my advice other people will give you other varying opinions.
Your english did improve you did make a oops but I really don't care. Some of the people here are human beings - we would like to be communicated to in such a manner - we aren't G dog homies from jersey city, the heights, bronx, queens bridge (or any other borough for that matter) so don't talk to us like everyone here is or as if this is honda-tech.

if your post is legit then my apologies. you just sound a bit like some of the trolls that come through here a lot. ^^^ is true about V8 power. you could sell that standalone for what you got in it and get more useful stuff.. fyi i have over 500 daily whp and i am on a rom tune. as far as your tuner it does not pay off to use someone that someone like myself or Eluder have not heard of. if you said Martin or Chris or Scott or Mark or etc. that would be different. i dont care how nice he is, how much you have sat with him and drank a vanilla chai latte with whip cream and a shot of espresso.... use someone that is known.. usually the bigger the dick they are the better they are at what they do..
peace

This is Martin. I have known Colin since I started my SR20 thing in the 90's... He has been around for as long as I have and is just as capable of tuning AEMs as I am. Lets put it this way.. Colin put away Lisa Kubo at a IRDA event when she was in the 9's in his car, about 7 years ago. Good friend and very capable guy.
Oh.. and it is RI - Racing Integration.. not R&I

Okay point taken. Ill make sure I use all my vowels and sometimes "Y" for now on. But yeah collins is the guy i been talking about and he has always been up front with me the day I stepped into his shop letting me know what he is about and what I should do and shouldnt do with my build. But just want to get her back on the road at this point. But i ran into a guy with a LS1 in a 240 thought he was out of his mind but I didnt know you were capable of achieving them numbers with that setup and maybe he didnt know either because he was answering my questions with little confidence in what he was saying but WOW, and thats the type of guidance a newbie truly appreciates and is thankful. Now I can look toward the future and catch up with the times and build toward the future and strive for new break through's and ideas for my next build.
Sell all the SR stuff, go with a v8. You will not be disappointed.
