Yeah I'm pretty sure now its a 29 spline like the Schassis/j30/naz32/whateverelsehaslittleoutputshafts.

Lame, guess i'll just keep eye out for a R32GTR carrier

And 4.9 carriers are all over the place, there are 3-4 on eBay now. I appreciate the help and I'm not taking a shot at you. I take your info as the truth all the time. Your not just some Internet shmuck.
Honestly, I'm glad that someone knows that stuff. It just escapes me that people take old xterras/frontiers off road, and that carriers break. Maybe it's because my parent's supercharged 02 doesn't feel like the sturdiest thing ever. I'm not taking a shot at you either. I'm just not a fan of someone talking down about people/companies that aren't present to defend themselves. Post up more info if you have it! TR used to be THE place for knowledge like this among Nissans. Front diff, C200 right?

Heh, I've been to University Auto Recyclers in Pensacola. One of the local Nissan guys up there (used to?) manages that place. Tony LaRocca. Still owes me money.

But, yeah, 3.9 to a 4.9 is going to add 25% more acceleration per gear. That thing is going to MOVE!

It all depends on what your goals are...
Juice, Are you always going to be riding on Big drag radials?
Like Esptein said,
If you're going to run a 28" tire, you'll need a 4.636 just to get back to the stock equivalent (25" tire, 4.083).
But you stated you were running in the 26" size and you want to rev to 10 Grand.. the 4.9 might be your ticket...

I would go with a 4.36. It's a happy medium between the stock 4.08 and the 4.9. I'm about a 25 & 1/2 tire with some meat, power estimate around high 400's. the 4.36 should suit me well, at the expense of some added traction loss Car should FEEL faster though...

You can find the pumpkins in the skyline..... what, gts diffs and the early Ca powered 180's right? Best way to find out you have one is take off the diff cover and look at the ring gear. It should have a 48:11 ratio stamped in. calculate that and it comes out to 4.3636_

Goodluck man

^yea, I'm gunna be on DR's almost always. right now the car spins to about 70mph without 'em. It even spins MT DR's (235/60/15) from a roll in first. Big DR's are a must.
