But its the factory corrado slc exahust with the fart tip.

The cop wound up under the car to see if the muffler was stamped, then told me to remove the tip or I would get a ticket =/

HAHAHA what?

I'm sorry but thats hilarious.

For all that said it couldn't be done... I went to court this morning and WON my dispute. Well, sort of... I had to pay court costs in the amount of $25.

It was retarded. I just broke down the law and explained how it is impossible to distinguish 79 db of sound by ear. I think the judge just wanted me to shut up, lol The cop's eyes bugged out when I began reading the exhaust statute. I said that I had the exhaust gaskets replaced to to help with sound and he pretty much said pay the court cost and go home so it isn't a complete victory I guess... Anyways, it's better than paying $120. Pretty much just pick apart the law line by line, and never admit guilt. I can't guarantee that it will work 100% of the time though. Maybe I got lucky. Who knows?

Yes the law is very vague, i talked to a police officer on orlando forums a while back and he had a nice thread about exhaust law and the open interpretation is leaves. In other words, if your smart you can beat it.

I am 100% convinced as of today that you can have the loudest exhaust on the planet and nobody will say anything to you as long as it doesn't "look" loud. This means: NO CANISTERS or GIANT SHINY EXHAUST TIPS! If it looks sleeper you'll get away. The whole "poor college student" can't afford a oem replacement exhaust because it's semi-discontinued / expensive as hell helped alot too.

yea mine is 4" straight piped well it's actually surprisingly not loud at all, a good bit quieter than your typical N1 but stillll I never get pulled over and typically my cars are always straight piped, but there is no giant shiny can in the back and just a single pipe so ya I agree competely with you

i believe if your car just looks like another import, or worse, a ricer, youre gonna have bad luck with cops. on the other hand, if your car looks well built and clean, you are generally more fortunate. ive known of a few people getting pulled over in WA because the cop wanted to check out the car mostly, "nice car, have a nice day."
in the end, luck of the draw, hit n miss.
EDIT: i just polished my exhaust last night...mwuahahahahah
