do it right, do it once....or cheap out and pay the consequences
We should make an after school special about car parts and use that as the tagline.

And welded is very sketchy in the rain. even more so if you have a decent suspension setup. I almost hit a car because an off ramp was too curved for my welded. In the rain, at 30mph... hard to stop sideways in the rain in time to avoid the Land Cruiser stopped in front of you. Went back to open the next day.

not trying to start shit mike, but i call bullshit. i rocked a vlsd from the hicas 240 and it sucked fat dick. i never just clutchkicked every corner, plus when your coming out of a slide, vlsds love correcting itself, and when it does they suck dick. trust me i know from experience.

I've gotta say my 180sx diff Is a lot better then my old welded and not just because of the 4.36 gears, I hated my welded. Just like s13 01 said, the only thing it was good for was drifting. I hated driving my car in the rain as well. It's not daily driver friendly and you'll be buying tires every month. If you intentions are to only drift, then get it welded. If not don't weld it.

so drving with a welded will also cause the front tires to experience rapid wear?

Makes sense if you think about it... the rear wheels only want to go straight. So when you turn, the front tires are fighting extra hard to turn the car. Resulting in understeer. The result is the chirping sound you hear as the rear wheels lose the fight for power and they lose traction.

^ Exactly...good 1.5 way for $600

wld the diff and eat through 4 tires quickly at $125 a tire an dthen throw in the fact that it may break and rides like shit and asssuming you didn't have tp Pay to weld it it still isn't worth it...if you pay to weld it it is even LESS worth it...

Its cool, the current one is only VLSD till after I get it running, then i'll pickup a used R32 GTR differential.

You know VLSD's wear out with age/mileage right... yours was probably just not as tight as his.

Same reason I prefer your sister over your mom.

OP: this subject has come up before, search it. Welded diffs are great for drifting.. but like Tim said..a real diff will be better.. Watch your self esteem soar hahaha
