nice. well this 3rd gen sbc looks like the better way to go for sure. im wondering how much more trouble it would be to just go FI though. i need to look up LS1 swaps.

More trouble ? No more trouble, probably less trouble, but if thats the case, you'd probably be a lot better off going and finding a complete engine pullout. A running, complete setup should run you 2800-4500$ for a 6 speed complete package.

yea it be easier and cheaper in ways, since you wouldnt have to buy a carb and carb manifold plus the MSD setup. For what the MSD costs you can buy a cam.

well thats all i was worried about, i hate wiring, looks like the biggest pain in the ass will be modding the subframe (i might just buy a daft mounting kit.)

any idea if the lm7 is wire throttle or cable?

If you decide to go with a truck engine, and then get a T56, then you'll want to track down an LS1 intake manifold and throttle body anyway. The truck manifolds are pretty tall and would stick clear through the hood of an S chassis.

If you are trying to keep costs down, I would suggest buying pre made headers and fab the mounts myself, before buying the mount kit and then trying to get by on the exhaust side of things.

thats the thing man, check out the kit from daft innovations.

polyurethane inserted cnc billet mounts/tranny mount (for T56) modified subframe, custom tranny crossmember custom equal length headers, custom driveshaft, powersteering conversion line for use with LS pump.

all for like $1600 at my door.

all thats needed is the LS1 intake mani, gto pan and oil feed, a beefed up clutch master cylinder, decent fuel system is needed, a z06 clutch/flywheel/pressure plate goes for about $350 from exedy. ill need a little help with wiring but im good other than that. you can even buy some deal that calibrates the chevy speed sensor to work with the S13 cluster. im looking at $2500 to $3000 for the full swap. i think im goin for it.
