gear shifting problem

Default gear shifting problem

ok i've been having issues with my ride as you can tell by my other recent post.

here is the issue: push the clutch in and try to shift but will not shift into gear sometimes.

other times i push the clutch in and it is difficult to shift the gears.

and then it will shift normally like nothing is wrong. please help me!!!!


i think my clutch is done-so

I 2nd check the slave. check your fluids constantly and never let that bitch run dry...

if it is ur slave thats a $15 fix, and if it is ur master that is a $35 fix

i have fluid in the res. how is an easy way to check the slave? or should i just buy a new one and replace it? I have a '92 s13

The slave is bolted to the transmission, its the part that moves the shift fork. You can replace it since its cheap. But your main problem is cold weather, every 240 has this problem in cold weather untill the car gets warmed up. Other than that there really isnt much you can do about it.

put some fresh 75w90 gear oil in it it wont be that bad.
thats what me and a friend did makes it feel better when the tranny is cold

when my slave went out on my 92 the clutch peddle just fell to the floor lol

replaced the slave and nothing new. i've adjusted the clutch pedal and still nothing. while parked and at idle i could push the clutch pedal in and shift into 3,4,5 but not smoothly. going to replace the master cylinder and see what happens then
