yea im coming from a sohc ka cuz when it got recked i bought a dohc ka it had a lag issue then it blew 3 weeks later. then a newer ka out of a 96 never really got on it cuz new clutch and my DD then that got starved of oil. so me going SR is going to be a big jump ill be getting it in a week or so. new rings, bearing, headgasket, and if it needs head work ill get it done.
it will put me in the same time frame of the ka being built. around the end of the month of jan. i didnt think that i would have to go all out on a na ka to make 200whp. and the ka is just bad luck for me anyways.
now im doing more research on what sr i want in my s13. and what i have to do besides the harness.

and a question who here makes the harnesses???

You might as well get the s14 sr that way you wont have to bebuild it/more reliable/more boost....so you can just drop in add bolt-on's and go!

they are, both are 232* duration.

s13 are a 240*/248* variation, which is why people like to use two s13 exhaust cams for the double 248* setup, plus it's cheap and opens up the top end just a tad.

a high-comp n/a ka build sounds intriguing and is overall sweet, but the time and money invested is too much for the diminishing gains most people see out of them. there are of course some ka race motors that aren't streetable, and some pioneers like greaser who have spearheaded that area of making power, but it's not something like in honda-land where you can throw parts at it and duplicate it.

for the goals, it would be easier to do a bottom mount ka turbo, or just get a basic SR swap. that type of power level and powerband is really fun and easy to work with.

also remember greaser's red car (i believe it is the same one), has been lightened and such from his drag racing days, and its not very close to the stock weight of a normal s13.

a centrifugal s/c 240 would be pretty sweet, IMO. it wouldn't be that hard, it would all be in the fab work of the bracket, and either getting a pulley made, or sacrificing a/c and mounting it low. it would be super easy to point the outlet and plumb a traditional front mount intercooler system, and the intake would be easy to fab, and from there it's typical FI supporting mods. but again, getting the right unit, and the time/money might not make it that great.

the few s/c'ed KA's ive heard sound so cool tho. whhheeeeee eeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeee lol

I thought so. I might look around for two of them then, or be lazy and not do anything.

that sounds right. my set up worked great for me, lots of autocrosses in SM class with advan A032s against mustangs and what not with full slicks and i was in the top three most events. the extra power helped compared to the stock ka with exhaust before. it opened up real good on VIR too.

Hmm, might be worth it to do, especially for going up to the mountains.
