What are your thoughts on RB swaps?
First one, if you JUST want to be different then I can't argue that.
Second one, I wouldn't worry about how it sounds. It's all about winning right?
Personally, I'd go KA-T if you wanted response. This guy's car was tuned (powerband wise) for low to mid range for autox.

I believe he had about 400whp.

Any motor swap I do is going to have a new water pump, pulley set and timing assembly. With a RB20, I would do a headgasket and ARP head bolts, along with a turbo/injector upgrade. I'm not a r-tard or a noob.
Honestly, if cost were no object, I would go with a LSx/6m setup bar none. I've got a shedload of knowledge about KA-Ts, SR20s and whatnot but as of late, LSx motors have been on my plate.
However, my goals are mid-300's at the wheels, tons of low end torque, fuel economy and a special presidential flair. I always like to go where nobody has gone before.

I'm not trying to shove the KA idea down your throat, and I'm not going to post any more about it for that reason (because it's your car and I respect that). But as for the KA above, it made ~200ft/lbs @ 2500rpm and full boost (~400wtq) @ 3700ish rpms. Of course it was on race gas and a race gas tune though!
Just thought I'd throw that out there since you mentioned "tons of low end torque."
Good luck on whatever you decide!

a ka-t or sr would fit perfectly with the right upgrades.
the rb20 isn't a bad motor. but if you're shooting for mid 300s with good torque, i'd forego the money on trying to upgrade the rb20 and just get an rb25 or rb26, keeping the twins, and with intake, fmic, downpipe, and exhaust, you can probably get there without raising the boost very much. and of course water pump and oil seals are a must with any swap, just easier to do out of the car.
