Do what im doing, GT28RS turbo KA (275hp max) with a 4.36 f/d and a good clutch.
RB20s at least sit farther back than the 4 bangers do. The overall length is greater but there is more motor behind the centerline (as opposed to the 4 cyl).

I dont know how it can, theres only maybe an inch of clearence from the back of the KA head/block to the fire wall, Its tucked in there pretty well. And all the accs. sit on the front of the motor (alot of weight). So I still say it screws up balance and its heavier so its going to put more stress on your front brakes.

Here you want to be out of the box... You want low end tq... You want to have nice power... I say fuck the norm and do a RB30DETT.. Or even DET... It has been proven to 300+hp using all stock nissan parts. It may be a little more expensive and parts are hella hard to source, but hell you got to pay to play... And I dont think any of the afore mentioned motors can stack up to the rb30et in stock form.

I have a full write up on the RB30DETT if you feel like looking into it.

I will get it to you as soon as I get back to my moms house. I looked into it for about 4 months when I had my last Rx7... They have been proven to quite a bit of horsepower using stock parts, and tons of tq to boot.

lsx, more hp N/a out of the box, more reliable, more lighter = power to weight ratio in a 240sx. MOAR TQ!!
pretty much badass with lil mods. Im all for sticking to all jap stuff and being JDM YO! but you cant deny the beastly power of the lsx in a lil 240sx.

I dont think the lsx swaps are just a bandwagon but a better choice overall. make a list of good and bads. the lsx motors will win.
I do love all nissan motors though.<3

The VQ has always been on my list. However, they're a bit expensive still. This is the same deal with a LSx, even with my connections they're expensive. I've never wanted to go ballistic with this car in the power department, I think 300 rwhp +/- would suit my needs.
