I've never actually been part of the discussion of clutch versus electric fans with two people that had opposite opinions.

simple, the direction that P.K. and I are taking this thread. makes it steer away from the topic.

"same as PM"
But I will say this in ref to the MSD crapola. Scott Enthalpy tuned it to run w/ it. that same tune is making 311 whp and 279 tq. on 9 psi. like P.K. said that is another thread all together. Tho the thought of having a George Foreman in the car. is a tempting idea. can we say steaks on the go.
If paul wants to start a thread of pros and cons of electric vrs clutch. im game. but to be considerate this thread needs to get back to topic. yo!

any luck w/ cooling system yet?

yes, I found out that the shit water pump is leaking a little where an ass hat(OWNER BEFOR ME) used RTV instead of a rubber gasket. I orderd a new water pump and I am flushing the system today and I bought a 13 pound rad cap. I would like to see a debate of electrical system vs perofrmance. Like grounding, electric fans, battares ect. I don't want to cloud up too many of my threads but if no one starts it i think I will. Curious to see people stance. O yea. and as for the shroud statement. I like the shroud, when painted...I saw a 240 with one painted daytona blue and it looked sick, i don't however like the black plastic look.

their is a paper gasket that comes with the water pump..... they didnt use one and they had etched the edges of the origional pump so it was not surfaced and level

factory does not use a paper gasket.
thats some crappy aftermarket bullshit.

and i 100% guarentee that a leaky water pump isnt the problem.
if it ends up being fixed, you had an air bubble, or a failing water pump. leak alone wouldnt cause what you were talking about.

ah, ic. well I do have mad rust in my radiator from my block. Rad i brand new jsut alot of gunk in the block it seems like. will gunk make a 10-20 degreese increase in temp? also these fans are driving me nuts. every time I flip the switch they fuckin bring the temp up...Is it a possibility the motor on the fan are heat soaking the rad?

if you have that much shit in the radiator, id replace it.
flushing will get some, but still could have a blockage, and that will cause hot conditions, or overheat.

put it this way. clutch fan, on a typical sr on the dyno, youre talking maaaaaybe a 2 hp. loss.
same car with a taurus single electrical fan, wired through relays, cost nearly 10hp. i have dyno charts to prove it somewhere on my computer at home.

theres a reason these cars come with clutch fans. its the best way to do it.
why do you also think some of the most well built schassis cars in the counrty still use clutch fans? and japan as well?

sure, some people use electrical fans with success, but one will never find its way onto my perfectly cool, even when being beaten on car.
my therory ($.02).... if you turned the fans off while moving ,you get air flow ,so you dont need a fan? ....if your going fast enuff that is?

its like a hood scoop (N/A)on a dyno = useless
