What kind of internals are you going to be using?

400 seems like it might be pushing the motor hard for a daily driver.

But then again, SR's are freaks.

im gonna run stock bottom end and xat says 450 is fine for a blacktop but anything more will be pushing it. youtube has 550hp sr's on stock bottom end. as long as you have a good tune it'll last

dude, stock bottom end wont hold up long at that much power
look into how long cars making that power on stock bottom ends last, you might change your mind.

budget head = arps / metal hg / bc 272's w/ bc springs and retainers...

sounds like a diesel but gets you past 400.

In my dictionary...
"A stock bottom SR will reliably make over 450"....
Which means that given 100 SR's with the same mods,
99 of them will make over 450 when dynoed.
How many times they will do this is not guaranteed.

About 350-360rwhp in my experience is a safe repetitive... go beat on it number for a stock bottom end.

How much power you want to push as a daily driver / weekend drift car is totally dictated by your wallet.

its just a downhill slope of reliability. anything can break really.
most likely, bend a rod, fuck stuff up in the head.

i dont understand why a certain hp number is so important to people.
make whatever you can, without sacrificing reliability, and live with that.
whats the big deal?

What usually goes is a ring or ringland. Blowby first then a blown motor.

There are exceptions to every rule.. I know of a good number of SR's that I've tuned years ago that are in the high upper 300's with stock motors still. Some of these guys are really really rough on their cars though. Like I said.. let your wallet decide how much you are willing to be at... because if you have money to replace the motor... it will never break.... If you do not have money to replace the motor and will get stranded w/o a car.. it will go within a week. Thats how it works 99.99% of the time.
