I have never re shimmed in over 3 years. I have checked it plenty of times and its still in spec since 2004. I resized each shim on the retainers not inside the lifters.

 

oh ok. well thats not bad. i'll probably go with the build i listed on the previous page. thanks alot. i probably wont have it done till may or june but it'll be worth the wait.

I never said you couldn't do it with those parts. I said that you don't need them. Now we're debating tuning theory. We have 2 setups that will make about the same power because it will ultimately be limited by the turbo. Mine just does it with less and smaller parts. You're talking to the person that abandoned a standalone and HKS step3's because of the way it drove.

 

idk since i already have the cams and they are expensive cams i'll keep them unless you have some used jwt s3's laying around im not ready to buy anything for retail
