if its doing it right when you just start driving its probably thermostat related. just take the thermostat out and see how it runs, try a bottle of water wetter too.

completely flush your coolant system, start from there. and buy i a t-stat for 12 bucks, then get some coolant and DISTILLED water, aslo get rid of that ghetto ass overflow and see how it is.

id say dont even run one, FL weather keeps your engine pretty warm to where you dont even need to use one. i was having the SAME issue with my white coupe and i just removed the t-stat.

I know it's something stupid since the temp goes up & down, and it cools off so quickly (I can take the rad cap off in a few minutes). I guess I'll try removing the thermostat and see what happens. With the way my luck is, I wouldn't be surprised if the one I just bought is bad

try replacing your temp sensor also. and is your fan shroud on? every little bit helps.
