Datsun Dreaming
Getting some low offset wheels, that are wide with narrow tires, to make it look like you are running big boy wheels/tires, is just as rice as the huge wings, giant body kits etc, dont get mad when someone calls it for what it is.
It's a late 80's 16. In light chop it outruns my friend's prindle. but as soon as the waves pick up it slows down big time. I got it for super cheap and put all new rigging, lines, and trampoline on it. I've been eyeing that Nacra 5.0 on craigslist though... this was a great learner cat, but I've been considering moving up to more of a racing boat.
How did you like the 5.2? I'm a little worried that the 5.2 might suck to sail around the bay, since the daggerboards hang down pretty low and most of the bay is pretty shallow. Also, I don't think I could right a 5.2 by myself. I have trouble getting my Hobie back up... haha.

Our big boy boat is a 40' C&C tall-rig. 65' HOA with 8+' draft. Only need 2 to day sail, but takes 8 to race. We don't race it (previous owner has a ton of trophies in it), but it's still fun to blow by people that are actually racing and wave our beers at them.
I'd love to run 275's up front, but I really dont want any rubbing, and will be waiting to see what I can fit with OEM S15 fenders installed. Realistically i'm hoping to run 245-255's up front and 255-265 rear for daily, with a pair of 17x9's and 275/40 drag radials for weekend duty.
You can fit 255's up front easy with some bashing. Contrary to what EVERYone believes, my tubs only increase height clearence for suspension travel. Since the fender well now starts at the frame rail where the factory one starts an inch or so lower. Which means I can go lower than most and not have issues.
I've been thinking about turning my muffler into the RE-Anemiya style with a 3.5" turn down tip. Dont know why but I've loved that style of muffler since middle school. I gotta practice my SS welding first.
