Haha awesome, more money for other things! I'll be ordering an entire gasket set online so I'll just run the OEM one from that. I just wasnt sure what the stock head gasket could take.

My new clutch came in today. Should be in the car tomorrow. I wish I did this last week since I could have had it broken in by Saturday's autocross. Lameee

On the other hand, Spec is also covering labor costs even though the disclaimer says they are not responsible for anything other than the clutch.

^^ Thanks for the help Dan!!! Im sending you a text now for something.

They're $80 for the set at the Nissan parts counter, or ~$40 plus shipping from The Nismo Store (west covina). Merry Christmas. I just saved you ~$400.
^ The apexi gaskets look very similar in construction to the cosworth gaskets.
I thought this was a pretty interesting read as far as cometic bashing... lol

You ran stock head bolts on your old sr'd s13? wowser!
Iirc power enterprise made a limited amount of ka head gaskets for a group buy a while back. I haven't really heard whether or not they yielded similar results as the mazworx torture test.

I wish either apexi or cosworth would start manufacturing an alternative mls head gasket for ka's... ugh

Well, when you buy things new everyone should give you this kind of customer service. Everything that has broken on my car has been from a manufacturer defect, not user error and they should take the responsibility.

If Tein didn't replace my coilovers, Im sure Nasioc would have destroyed them. A bad review could be a big blow for Spec too.

Im also taking it to S&R because first of all it's not possible to do a clutch swap with the tools I have readily available and when people are helping me, I dont like to make them look like fools.

put my "custom exhaust" back on. it seems to fall off exactly when i don't want it to. aka sunshine or 9pm on fowler on my way back home. USF needs a good spot to work on cars cuz i cant really crawl under my car with a car 1 foot to either side of it in the parking lot...and it needs to be shady lol

That thread is hilarious. This is why I never look for info on the internet, and why everyone's car breaks all the time. It's all wrong! OK, they got the Cometic = crap part right. The original question was whether he can use a gasket with a 90mm ID on a stock motor. The answer of course is YES. The stock gasket from Nissan is 90mm on the stock 89mm bore motor. Good think 100 people just chimed in to reverse facts. Jeez. Caliper + stock gasket = answer. If you told those guys that they'd probably ask how the hell they're supposed to measure a gasket with brake parts!

-edit- yes I used stock head bolts. Several times. They'll be on my next motor, too. They're also on my brother's motor, which has been beating around for 3 years now like that.
