Default Sohc vs dohc blocks

Is the block any different between the two? I've not taken alot of time to research the SOHC engine, but the little bit I do know, the difference between the two was the head, and that the blocks were the same.
Is this true?

If it is, that would mean that you could swap the DOHC head onto a SOHC block without a whole lot of issues, right?

thanks

the blocks are diffrent
but you can put the doch head on the single cam block but it take's alot of machine work

is it worth it no it's not

i kinda thought they might, but the breif bit that I've looked at the SOHC block, it seemed to be rather similar.
So instead of putting the DOHC head on the SOHC block, you'd be better off putting the SOHC pistons in the DOHC engine. that would increase the compression quite a bit wouldn't it. that is if you aren't planning on turboing it.

around 11 to 1 ratio, yea your better off putting SOHC pistons in the DOHC than to swap the block itself

Last year, a guy bought my KADE motor. He told me his plan was to install KAE pistons in it. He has done this several times, and he pulls on stock SR's.

why not?
the sr only has what 220 hp. just having the higher compression pistons should yeild something like 180 hp. by the time you do the intake, headers, exhaust and a tune, that extra 40 isn't that hard to get.
I could be shooting in the dark with all of this....
