the sr only has what 220 hp. just having the higher compression pistons should yeild something like 180 hp. by the time you do the intake, headers, exhaust and a tune, that extra 40 isn't that hard to get.

go to fucking sleep honestly the only ka that can pull stock SR's through only like 2 gears is the 97+ Dohc KAs they have that vvti bs but they fucking haul through 2 gears i know i raced one in my SR he was at my door from dig when we hit 3rd i pulled away no problem.
jake an 11-1 comp ratio would pull on a stock SR no prob. Its been done and they dyno between 190-230 hp with little else done. oh and it doesn't have to wait for boost like an SR, its just floor it and go. Theres a reason most professional drag racers choose high compression ratio instead of turbo, because its faster

lmao r u fucking kidding me? 2k RPM in a SR turbo starts spooling 2400 rpm full boost! lmao ive tested it dont say Stock SRS have turbo lag cause they dont... its a fucking T-25 small fucking turbo and a S14 its turbo spools faster and i call bullshit on the 230 hp lmao...
omfg..... jake u r an assfuck... ur sr didnt start boosting til 3 k cause u had it all fucked up... secondly run your mouth all u wish but how many times did i stay side by side with u?? and i havent done nething internally... srs are 210 at the crank... so maybe 180 at the wheels and thats in full boost... the 97 ka thing is bullshit do a lil research and u will learn that his car was orig a auto and so his gearing was much higher... that is why he killed the 2 of u out of the hole..s-14 ka's are slightly diff comp. and supposedly like 2 hp diff.. woopty doo. maybe ill rip into it and put pistons in it and let everyone know.... the thing most of you sr ppl don't kniow... and ill get bashed for sayin it... believe it or not... ka's are BIGGER...

and not in boost..... sr's are wat 120 hp....lol dont get me wrong srs are cool its the jdm thing... but ppl sayin that all ka's suck and they cant be made fast is about as smart as saying jake is straight...

I FUCKING HATE KA's and why is most powerful KA only makes like 700 hp and most powerfull SR20 makes like 900 something... KA's sound like poop and dont compare racing my SR that day a race my VACCUME LINES WERE FUCKED... i had them all backwards... so for somereason i didnt hit boost till like 5k no joke... and idc wtf you say you KA fan boy NO KA will beat a fucking Properly running SR if you take a Stock KA put I,H,E on it and run a STOCK SR BONE FUCKING STOCK and its running at 100% both cars the fucking SR will win... i mean fuck... this is PINKS MATERIAL... id seriuosly put my fucking car on that show... run you with a STOCK SR in my car... and GAURNTEED SPANK YOU... let me see if I can clear this up any... I'll even please you and go turbo. I don't know, maybe you just can't handle the fact that a NA car can whoop you. Whatever
The typical sr20 swap costs what? 2,500? We'll even be nice and say 2,000. Thats just a straight swap. No performance, no thing. Just an engine.
Now lets see what we can do with that same 2,000 bucks.
Turbo Manifold for 200. Turbo for 300. Piping for 200. Intercooler for 250. Blowoff valve for 100. Boost controler for 100. Piggyback management for 300. Misc other things for 200, and some time on the dyno to tune for 250. That brings the total to somewhere around 1900. When its all tuned, it should be right around the 300 whp mark. I'll admit, those numbers are on the cheap side, however, cheap works. And the best part is, if you fab your own manifold and piping, you can cut down on even more cost and get a better intercooler, or better fuel management, or bigger injectors or a fancier blow off valve, or cushions for your sweet little ass.
So for the same 2,000 budget, you end up with a shitty ass ka that you have to negotiate lengths on. And thats only at 10 pounds, of which could easy be pushed that up between 12 and 15 for the three passes it takes to drive your car home.
So I guess you're right, the KA is just so much slower than the SR that it shouldn't even be allowed to be put in a car.
Who were we to think that we could even dream of keeping up with the all powerful SR20...
lmao .... and your little thing there with the best ka is only 700... the highest horse 240 right now is ka-t assfuck and makes a little over a thousand.... fucking twat.. and i by no means am talking about the day ur vaccum lines were fucked up.. every other time.. those are the ones we talked about.. u kno like the on friday on the way to the hudson meet... but i know u will tell everyone i was trying a ricer flyby and was going 80 trying to pass u and u went from 45 to pullin away from me in 2 secs with your 200 hp car......i mean 200.. how could i compare... and the funny thing is... if u want a fast car... buy a domestic.... 240's are slow.. with the exception of very few... and how muhc money does it take to make 500 rwhp on an sr.??? im goin with around 10k.

SOHC pistons in a DOHC motor make it 11:1 compression. Shave the head and you can go higher, but then detonation becomes an issue.

Do a search on the freshalloy.com forums. This swap has been several times. Compression ratio gets bumped to 11.5-12:1 depending on which piston used (the early KA24E had higher 9.1:1 comp, later was 8.5:1). Stock ECU should be fine, but be prepared to run high octane (94?) to prevent detonation.
