What rods/pistons do you use?
Nah not for that, that's the good part. The Jun kit is 10k while the Crower kit is only $5,500. The Pauter/Arias combo with a new Nismo crank is about 3,000 give or take a couple hundred, so another 2-3 months time added to the build might be worth it. But this is all still up in the air right now, I may not go to overboard with this one cause when it's done I'm gonna start work on my red Z so I'm still gonna need the green one as my daily beater.

Yes I do, I'm not looking at the Crower kit in terms of strength, only power. I know the VG has a factory forged crank and rods but you can only bore the block so much before you start having problems. Stroking it will increase cylinder volume without the risk of hot spots and cracks

stroking it also decreases engine efficiency at high rpm and places additional strain on your bearings. the VG does have a rather short 83mm stroke though, going to an 86mm stroke wouldn't be a bad idea, but I wouldn't go past 86mm.

But stroking does more that add volume. It changes the dynamics of the whole motor.
Nissan designed that motor with boost in mind.
Swap pistons and some other small details, and that short block is ready for 700hp. While still at 3.0.
That 3000 could be better spent elsewhere.
And that's just another fact to take into consideration with which way I'm gonna go with this motor. I want to get a good bit more power with this build (like it wasn't fast enough) but like I said, at the end of the day it still has to be a daily beater so reliability matters most..........kinda

This is true.

I couldn't agree with you more, the stroker would just be nice cause I haven't seen any, but you're right in the fact that 700hp is capable without going so crazy and that power is about what I'm shooting for. So far what I have planned is
Arias 88mm pistons
Pauter rods
JWT R5 cams and HD springs
Ferrera 1mm over valves
ARP studded head and mains
Modded 240 TB's
And of course the usual port+polished heads and extrude honed intakes.
As far as the exhaust the SS manifolds that came with the turbos aren't bad but I've been reading about a new set for the 16g's that are supposed to breath better and be less prone to cracking or I'll just install flex joints in the test pipes.

Have you looked into doing Pentroof manifolds ?? Are they still the secret to making huge power in the z32tt's ?

Yeah I've looked at them, for about 2,500 bucks thats all I did was look lol. I'm still waiting for some of the reviews and dyno numbers to come back on the new SGP's, those are only 1,000 and supposed to be twice as thick as the SS Greddy manifolds with a larger ID.
