What rods/pistons do you use?
ivan from ams called me a week ago told me they were going to DC the prebious crower rods, and try these new pro series ones that he sent me. look great and apparently are 50grams lighter.

just because they dont own the car doesnt mean they know nothing about it or dont work on them (or have a wife with a nissan who has an sr
)
personally i have no experience with internals, but i know plenty of honda's that do decent on eagle rods. eagle just released their KA rods 2 or 3 days ago actually, so no judgement on them yet. i'm a big fan of wiseco and CP pistons just from seeing them in person, arias as well. for rods, pauters and crowers are both beefy and will take lots of punishment. one day i hope to test out some on my own

sounds pretty sweet. make? pricetag? chris at ams convinced me down to the ams rods cuz i dont plan on anything more than like 400hp. the crowers would have been extreme overkill with an extra 250$ price tag

I use CP pistons and stock rods on my 550hp setup with over 20,000 miles. I would never use Eagles over stock SR, VG, or KA rods unless I wanted a lighter more reponsive rod. Eagle rods should not be confused with being much of a stronger rod. Pauter and Crower would be my rods of choice for my next build.

Many people on here already know, but I'm new here so you may not know anything about me. Just moved down here about 8 months ago. I work for Nissan currently as a tech, just short of being a Master. I own a company selling parts and tuning ATM since I'm still getting settled down here. I used to have a shop back in Colorado and have built plenty of cars.
Yes I've built VG's, VQ's, SR's, 2JZ's, Rotary's, 4AG's, and tons more. Kind of what you would expect owning a shop that specializes in Forced induction. Our primary focus was on Supra's, but I'm an RX7 guy myself hence the screen name. But as a shop with a good track record of building High horsepower street driven vehicles, people tend to bring all sorts of cars to me including domestics. I also sport a 66 Mustang coupe if your still stuck on my Screen name.
I'm just putting in my 2 cents and my info I got from Eagle while putting together a few Engines using Eagle rods. I'm sure you can dig up a few threads about the problems they had with their rods from Supra forums and other nissan forums.
Some on here already know my wife and I and will recognize the car. Yes those are Eagle rods, CP pistons, and yes my wife built the engine and it is her car. Pretty nice for her first motor build and runs like a champ. Fully balanced and built. So if you won't take my building experience from the past, then maybe pictures will help you with one of our personal vehicles.

Pauter rods.. Carillo rods or ... TI Rods by Crower. Thats it... CP or Wiesco(sometimes) thats it. 24 built motors can not be wrong.

I'll look into the TI's from Crower, as far as pistons the Wiseco's are probably the last on my list. Some people may have good luck with them but that's one thing I have personally seen go bad so I'm not taking any chances with this build and those pistons. I've always believed in you get what you pay for (to bad it didn't hold true when I bought my car) so I'm sparing no expense for this engine regardless of how long it takes to build.
