Hard to argue that. Real world experience> theory.

throw the springs in there anyways to raise the rev limiter safely when you tune it cuz any of the cams you put in are gonna cause later spool so you might as well reap more of the benefits in the topend as well

il ove the word response

my 25 year old turbocharger technology coupled with good cams and nice exhaust manifold outspools most of the newer garrett turbochargers at the same output level that my car makes

i to also believe GTs are over rated.

i wouldnt ever spend $1200 on a turbo, but thats what the band wagon is now i guess.

Before the ban Porsche Dude posted a link to a site that sold a lot of the GT non-ball-bearing stuff at reasonable prices. It's the fancy-schmancy ball bearing stuff that's expensive, the conventional bearing turbos with GT wheels weren't all that much more than old school garrett stuff. And the wheels are better, I've seen several tests that have convinced me of that.

For any straightline car I don't think I would bother with the ball bearing, I shift at WOT with a clutch cut and if the car still loses too much boost I'll throw in some timing retard on shifts to help out or work on banging those gears a bit faster. For a car I'd use on a track with turns, I think the ball bearing turbo would shine if I was running a turbo at the upper limits of sizing for the engine setup and was demanding fast transitions into boost at lower rpm above the spool threshold. With a properly sized (reasonably sized) turbo and a good 4k range of power I don't think it would ever be an issue.

guessing hp will be around 350 to 400 rwhp like you wanted. 660s injectors, sounds sweet! i got a similar setup but with a intake manifold and tad bigger injectors iwth a turbonetics turbo. Step 1's aren't bad but I would love to experience step 2's. I'm more about straightline driving, no drifting for me. . Anyone have any for sale!!!

I'd like to see what numbers you get with that s14 of yours.

so I found the PT# for the tomei NVCS cams. 260/12mm, does that seem like too much lift?
I know they are solid type meaning they need the lash killer, no problem, just means more cash to the industry.
what do you guys think?
