Default do you want your rearend welded

bring your spare rearend and will be welded for $20. Or a bullit proof rearend for $50. welded consists of welding the spider gears in 4 spots. Bullit proof consists of the same as welded but has two 3/8inch steel plate that has noches to fit in the gears then is welded solid. Your axles will break before the bullit proof rear end goes. I am doing this because people want some thing as they are saving money for a LSD.

It might put some extra stress on your halfshafts but nothing i would worry about. What I would be worried about is driving it on the road and especially when it rains. In my opinion its not very safe and should only be used on serious drag and drift cars that dont get driven on the road much.

welded is pretty hardcore...driving in the rain, mud, dirt on the road, oil spills, ..etc. is a pain in the ass and pretty damn dangerous ..other then that its cool

well I have a 91 camaro with LSD and I already have this problem except I have almost 400 HP to the wheels and I know thats I have this problem in the rain all the time but its only when I GET ON IT and I intentionally try to get sideways. is this problem the same with the 240 being welded? is it like if I barely touch the gas int he middle of a turn im going to break loose almost all the time in the raid trying or not?

Jimmy, The reason to go with a solid diff is to keep both wheels turning at the same speed when going straight. The problem with a solid diff is that both wheels end up turning the same speed all the time. Of course when you are going around a corner that is a very bad thing because one wheel needs to travel a lfarther distance than the other and they end up fighting each other. Traction during turning would get much worse with a welded diff. Unless you have bad straight line traction problems (one wheel peel) or you want the rear end to come out all the time dont weld your diff.

What do I do, Just drive the car down there or do I have to pull my diff out myself and bring it. I have never tried this before so forgive my ignorance. I drive a car where my diff always locks when I get on it?
