its a relief that I can continue to play without a major step back. but just cant figure out where the problem lies. swapped in flaco ecu today with same result. going bonkers on this one...

Maybe try putting your normal UICP on until you get that injector driver box?

I dont have injection wired in at the moment. the misfire is still there. no 2 injector just stops firing. I can plug in known good injector and it doesnt click. wiring problem of some sort. just doesnt make sense that the problem goes away when car is shut off for a minute. then it returns after 1-10 minutes of run time. tried a second ecu today and it made no change to problem.

could your resistor pack be the culprit? only other thing that controls injectors is the mpi, ecu, cas right?

yeah most likely. you have hall effect cas, swapped ecu, and if it was mpi you wouldnt have power to any of the injectors

had high hopes on the resistor pack. seems a failing one could cause same symptoms. but that didnt fix it.

Take the next step. Drive it until #2 stops firing, and then see if you're getting any power to the injector clip. If you are getting power but its not pulsing then its either CAS or break in a wire. If you're not getting power then maybe mpi relay? Ive had a similar problem before, never found the culprit...I unplugged my whole engine harness, plugged everything back in and never had the problem again...lol

you might have 2 different problems to occur this. (resistance or exposed wiring) or both combined.

electricity will follow path of least resistance. check to see if you have any exposed sections of that portion of the harness. Excessive resistance could cause this to happen. If its exposed it could ground itself to where ever its open rather than the circuit doing it job.

For the car to be working normally than shutting down its sounding like something is getting to hot and finding another way out or shutting itself down.
