I find it interesting that the automotive industry is using larger displacement moters especially considering that they have more research than most anyone in building a well rounded motor combo. Simply put, I dont see a stock 2.0 talon, eclipse 1g, or 2g laying an ass wooping on a stock srt4, wrx or evo. Personally a fast car comes down to how deep your pockets are.

With cheap or free mods a 1g awd will whoop down a srt or a sti.I can't wait to go hunting again....

Of couse any car that has been modified will have increased performance, there is no fair way to compare cars that have been modified unless you are comparing the same car against itself. I clearly like the 2.0 or I would not have bought my 2g.

you also cannot compare a 1g or a 2g with an srt4. because of the simple fact that some of the stuff that they come from the factory with is a mod for us such as exhaust, and lsd in 04 and 05. the also have an adjustable wastegate which can allow them to run run more boost where we can't do that. your comparison isnot logical

Take it for what it is worth but my point was that it is interesting that car manufacturers are using larger displacement motors when accounting for turbos.

I think it's more of they are making more larger displacement motors so they are putting "bigger" turbo's on them from the factory. It would be kind of dumb to have a 14b sized turbo on a 2.4L+ sized motor. It would be the same as when mitsu put the t25 on the 2.0s.
